Twitter Breach Affects 5 Million Accounts
Twitter’s platform had a vulnerability that allowed a hacker called “devil” to illegitimately extract information for 5.4 million users on the platform. The hacker is selling the information for $30,000, which includes phone numbers and email addresses for Twitter accounts belonging to businesses, celebrities and average users. Twitter is currently investigating the incident.
Colorado Town Hacked
The Frederick Police Department is investigating a possible cyber-attack against its government’s information systems. The Lockbit ransomware group posted information for the 15,000 residents on its leak site, but Frederick’s officials have not yet confirmed the attack.
Entrust’s network Breached
Digital security company Entrust confirmed they were hit with a cyber-attack in June. Hackers breached the company’s network and stole corporate data from their internal systems, but the company does not believe the breach will negatively affect their security products or services. Entrust is investigating the incident along with the help of law enforcement.
