Ubisoft hacked by LAPSUS$
The LAPSUS$ group, who recently hacked Samsung and NVIDIA, was responsible for Ubisoft’s cyber security incident last week. The incident temporarily resulted in the disruption of some of their games, systems, and services, however, the company doesn’t believe any player’s personal information was accessed or exposed.
I.T. Army Trojan
People responding to the call to join Ukraine’s I.T. Army commonly use a DDoS tool called Liberator against Russian propaganda websites. However, a malicious version of the tool has been making the rounds on Telegram, which contains an information stealer that gathers data from the “I.T. soldier’s” computer and sends them to a remote Russian IP address.
Ransomware Attack on Barbados’ Government Systems
Last week the government of Barbados’ I.T. systems were hit with a ransomware attack. As a result, most of the government’s I.T. systems and websites were shut down to contain the threat. The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology confirmed investigations into the incident were ongoing, but no mention was made of if any information was compromised as a result of the attack.
