Beware of Crypto Romance Scams
The Federal Trade Commission revealed that romance scams yielded $1.3 billion in 2021. These are scams where a fake love interest will target a victim, and after gaining their trust, ask them to contribute to an investment opportunity. With the rise of crypto currency, most of the losses in these scams have been paid this way.
San Francisco 49ers Hacked
San Francisco 49ers American football team confirmed that they fell victim to a ransomware attack last week. The Blackbyte ransomware group appears to be the perpetrators of the attack, which primarily affected the team’s corporate network. The attack is being investigated, but Blackbyte has already listed the team on their leak site.
Emil Frey hit with a Ransomware Attack
The #1 car dealer in Europe disclosed that they were hit with a ransomware attack in January. The Hive ransomware group was responsible for the attack on the Swiss company; however, they were able to quickly recover from the attack.
