Canadian Bookstore Hacked
Indigo Books & Music was hit with a cyberattack last week that shut down the company’s website. The nature of the attack is being investigated, and the company can’t confirm if customer data was exposed during the incident. As a result, the company can only process cash payments at its physical stores.
City of Oakland Ransomed
A ransomware attack on the City of Oakland’s network has forced them to take their systems offline. Emergency and core services are still functioning as the incident is being investigated by their IT department and law enforcement. The ransomware operation responsible for the attack has not been disclosed.
Reddit Breach
A successful phishing attack targeting Reddit employees led to threat actors gaining access to the company’s internal systems, documents and source code. These types of phishing attacks where attackers use fake sites to steal credentials and 2FA tokens are very common, as Riot Games suffered a similar type of attack recently.
