Disneyland’s Socials Hacked
Disneyland’s Instagram account was compromised by a self-proclaimed “super hacker” going by the name David Do. He got control of the account and made a series of racially offensive posts on the platform directed at the company’s African American employees. Disney regained control of the account and removed the posts, but has not commented on how the account was hacked.
Marriott Confirms Breach
Marriott International confirmed a data breach occurred in June, due to a social engineering attack on one of its Maryland employees. The threat actors stole 20 gigabytes of sensitive data including guests’ credit card details and personal information. They posted the stolen information and Marriot is notifying the affected parties and law enforcement of the incident.
Mangatoon Accounts Exposed
A well-known hacker called “pompompurin” was able to compromise an Elasticsearch server used by Mangatoon. The data breach exposed information for 23 million of its users including names, and email addresses. The hacker hasn’t released the stolen information as yet, and Mangatoon has not publicly responded to the breach.
