Cyber Attack on AGLA
Trinidad and Tobago’s justice department is currently grappling with a cyberattack that has severely affected the operations of the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs. The Ministry of Digital Transformation has confirmed the unauthorized access, leading to disruptions in services. Immediate measures have been taken to mitigate the threat, and an ongoing investigation, in collaboration with prominent cybersecurity experts, is underway. As a result, certain services typically offered by the Office of the Attorney General are temporarily unavailable.
Martinique Endures Prolonged Cyberattack
The island of Martinique sustained a major cyberattack that caused significant disruptions to internet access, financial and educational systems. The attack, which started In May, forced officials to isolate affected systems and seek assistance from cybersecurity experts to gradually restore operations. The Rhysida ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack, leaking a substantial amount of stolen government data. Authorities and relevant agencies have yet to provide detailed comments on the matter.
JumpCloud Breach
JumpCloud, a directory-as-a-service platform, recently revealed a state-backed hacking group breached its systems nearly a month ago. The attack was highly targeted, focusing on a specific group of customers. Although there was no evidence of customer impact initially, JumpCloud took precautionary measures by rotating credentials and rebuilding compromised infrastructure after discovering the breach in late June.
